The Leader Guide

Dr. Chad C. Pecknold, Ph.D.
Dr.  Chad . Pecknold serves on the faculty of The Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. as an Associate Professor of Systematic Theology. He is the author of Christianity and Politics: A Brief Guide to the History (Cascade, 2010) and The T&T Clack Companion to Augustine and Modern Theology (Bloomsbury, 2014).

He contributes frequently to debates in the public square, writing regularly for The Wall Street Journal, First Things and National Review on religion and politics. Professor Pecknold has appeared as a guest on radio and television shows such as NPR's "All Things Considered," BBC World News, and ABC News.
St. Benedict Study Materials Written By...
Abbot Jeremy Driscoll, O.S.B.
In 2016, Fr. Jeremy Driscoll, O.S.B., was elected the 12th abbot of Mount Angel Abbey in Oregon. He has been a Benedictine monk at the same abbey since 1973 and was ordained a priest in 1981. In 1983, he earned an S.T.L. in patristics from the Augustinianum Patristic Institute in Rome, and, in 1991, earned an S.T.D. from Sant' Anselmo in Rome.

Abbot Jeremy has been a consultor to the Congregation for Divine Worship since 2005 and an "ordinarius" of the Pontifical Academy of Theology since 2010. He is an internationally renowned author and lecturer, and a Christian monk and ascetic.

Program Flow:

There are two options for presenting this program in five sessions as summarized in the chart below.

Option #1 requires individual preparation before viewing the film lesson, while Option #2 requires individual preparation after viewing the film lesson. Both options conclude with the discussion group in each lesson.
Each Session Includes Time For:
1. Gathering and Opening (5-10 minutes)
2. Video Viewing (25-40 minutes)
3. Discussion Groups (60 minutes)
4. Closing Prayer (5-10 minutes)
